| Objective | Tokonomato is an artist-run residency program based in Nagano City. Focused on short-term residencies, it provides a space where artists can concentrate on their own creative practice, research, and experimentation. | Location / Environment | Located in the quiet hillside neighborhood of Uematsu in eastern Nagano City, Tokonomato offers a calm environment with easy access to both central Nagano and the surrounding natural landscape. Zenkoji Temple and the Nagano Prefectural Art Museum are within walking distance, while nearby destinations such as Togakushi, Iizuna, Hakuba, and Lake Nojiri are easily accessible. Nagano is also conveniently connected to Tokyo by Shinkansen in under 90 minutes. |
