The YUI-PORT complex in Niigata City, which makes use of the former Junior High School building, offers an artist-in-residence program with the aim of supporting artists who stay and work in Niigata City, rediscovering the city's attractions and promoting exchange between artists and citizens. Long-term (up to 90 days) and short-term (up to 30 days) programmes are held alternately for each of the four seasons, with two artists each invited to participate.

We have launched #ResidenciesWithoutBorders, an initiative to express our support for artists and art related workers who wish to stay and work in Japan because of difficulties in their daily lives and production activities due to the war and other factors, and to provide as much advice and support as possible regarding their stay.
