| Objective | Through art, we will make use of the unique environment of Social Inclusion Village, where people from diverse backgrounds come together through childcare, education, social welfare, employment, and community engagement. We aim to transform encounters and interactions between people into new forms of artistic expression. By creating new cultural value at the intersection of art, social welfare, education, and the local community, we seek to contribute to the realization of a society where differences are recognized and embraced, and where people can live together. |

| Background | Opened in spring 2023 in Sango Town, Nara Prefecture, Social Inclusion Village is a concept area produced by Lemonkai, a social welfare corporation that draws on its extensive experience in social welfare services. Located on the former site of a university, the Village aims to create a comprehensive community centered on education and social welfare, based on the concept of “A society where everyone can thrive by working, learning, playing, and living here.” As a new initiative to connect people with one another, and communities with society, through art, the Village will launch its Artist-in-Residence program in September 2026. |
