The YUI-PORT complex in Niigata City, which makes use of the former Junior High School building, offers an artist-in-residence programme with the aim of supporting artists who stay and work in Niigata City, rediscovering the city's attractions and promoting exchange between artists and citizens. Long-term (up to 90 days) and short-term (up to 30 days) programmes are held alternately for each of the four seasons, with two artists each invited to participate.
