Art Studio Itsukaichi Residence Program

Objective The purpose of this program is to discover young artists / printmakers who are active throughout the world and offer them a growing experience and an opportunity to create artwork in a communal atmosphere with other artists from different backgrounds.
Organization activities -Invitation Print Exhibition
-Workshop in Children's house
-Open Studio
-Visit to nearby elementary school and participate in the drawing class
-Visit to the city hall

Founded in 1993
Background In 1993, as part of the “TAMA Life 21” project commemorating the 100th anniversary of the transfer of Tokyo to the Tama district, the residence project was started at Art Studio Itsukaichi, which was a renovation of the former Tokura Village Office.
Location / Environment Located on the outskirts of Tokyo, it is a quiet area with old houses. The surrounding area is dotted with historical sites and there are beautiful mountains and rivers nearby.

By bus:From JR "Musashiitsukaichi"station, take the Bus stop No.1 towards Hinohara "Kamiyozawa" "Kazuma" "Hossawa Falls Entrance " "Seoto-no-Yu" and get off at "Tokura" bus stop(approximatery 10 minutes); the facility is 2-minutes walk from the bus stop.
