Objective Program Objectives S-AIR aims to foster unique arts and culture at international level, by inviting leading artists, creators and scholars of contemporary visual expression, and promoting exchange with local artists/ creators and community in general.

-Exhibitions, symposia, seminars, workshops and other events, planned separately from the residency program
-Information service on arts and culture through publication of periodicals and website
Founded in 1999
Background S-AIR was established in 1999 with partial funding by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, to run an artist-in-residence programme in Hokkaido. Since it was approved to be a non-profit organisation in 2005.
Location / Environment There is an office in the cooperative studio "Naebono Art Studio" in Sapporo city.
