Objective In Kyoto prefecture, we are making various efforts to expand human communication and exchanges and to revitalize the region. One of the initiative is the “Artist in residence” project - where artists stay for a certain period of time and conduct production/installation in the area -. "Kyoto: Re-Search" main goal is to bring out the potential and the attractiveness of the area through arts.

Founded in 2016
Background The project is carried out based on the basic policies such as "preservation and succession of culture" and "regional development that utilized cultural resources" stipulated in the Kyoto Prefectural Cultural Future Ordinance. The main targets are "preservation, succession, and utilization of cultural properties", "promotion of cultural activities in the area", "cooperation with tourism and town development policies", which are stipulated in the Kyoto Prefectural Cultural Future Basic Plan.

【Subway】
Take the Karasuma Subway line from Kyoto Station to Marutamachi Station, from where it is 10 minutes by foot to the Prefectural Office.
Alternatively take the Tozai Subway line from Nijyo Station, change at Karasuma Oike and board the Karasuma line subway train to Marutamachi Station.
【City Bus】
Take route 10 from Sanjyo Keihan, or routes 93, 202, and 204 from Keihan Marutamachi. Alight at "Fucho-mae", from where it is 5 minutes on foot to the Prefectural Office
