| Description | We are located on the Danish island of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea close to Sweden. The residency is based next door to the artspace Beast in Østermarie, which is a small laid-back village with a vibrant art community. The aim of the residency is to encourage artists to come to Bornholm, get inspired by the unique nature and island life and get the possibility to focus on current projects or develop new ones. There are no special requirements to work on a particular theme during the residency. You have the choice to give an open studio talk, run a workshop etc. but it is not mandatory at all. You can either stay at the residency on your own or with an artist group or family or share the space with another selected artist (read more under the section "Residency options"). The residency is close to a grocery store, public transportation and a bikeride away from beautiful forests and the Baltic Sea. We welcome artists working in all fields, but especially encourage artists working in the field of photography to apply. |

| Pay by artists / Support for artists | What is included - A cosy and fully furbished brick-house with an open livingroom and kitchen area on the main floor and two bedrooms and extra toilet on the first floor. - Heat, wi-fi, electricity, sheets are included. Access to washing mashine. - Access to bike and to a large garden. - Professional cleaning before/after your stay. - Promotion of your stay. - Access to workspace/desk-space in shared studio at the Beast. - Access to digital workspace (Screen, calibration tool, flatbed scanner and Canon Pro-1000 A2 Inkjet Printer - production costs must be paid by the artist and paper has to be ordered or brought to the residency by the artist). - We will be happy to show give you a nature tour and introduce you to our local community. Residency options A) Rent the whole house: Stay on your own, bring your family or share with your artist group - up to three people. 9000 kr. per month (around 1200 Euros) B) Share the residency house with another selected artist. This way you have to stay here on your own and cannot have guests during your stay. Each of the artists have their own bedroom and share the living area of the house. We will do our best to make a good match. 4500 kr. per month per artist (around 600 Euros) |
