  • Künstlerhaus BethanienBerlin, Germany

As an international cultural centre in Berlin since 1975, the Künstlerhaus Bethanien has implemented and exhibited hundreds of projects with over 2.500 artists. The International Studio Programme is a platform for emerging artists from around the world. Over a fixed period, the focus of the Künstlerhaus Bethanien’s efforts lies on providing individual support and establishing connections between the artists in the program and the wider local context. The program offers curatorial support in the implementation of the artists’ projects, supplying workshops and technical infrastructure, presenting the projects produced, advertising all events organised by the resident artists, holding at least two annual “Open Studio”, editing and distributing the publications related to the projects presented at the institution, establishing contacts with international curators, critics, publicists, theorists, gallery owners and collectors, hosting seminars, talks and readings, liaising the artists with international institutions, projects and exhibitions. Artists must apply with one of the international partner institutions by responding to a public call. [Photo: ©Künstlerhaus Bethanien]
