AIR Program information
Objective | Support for the environment necessary for artists and creators to develop their own creativity. |
---|---|
Organization activities | - Open Studio - Artists-in-residence program - Exhibitions, symposia, seminars, workshops and other events - Curator Visit |
Founded in | 2020 |
Background | While support for art exhibitions and other opportunities to present artworks is substantial, support for the production environment is lacking, and as a result, there are situations where artists and creators are forced to give up their creative activities. SSK provides an environment where artists and creators can "continue to create" in order to create better works, and supports their creative activities from multiple perspectives. |
Location / Environment | Kitakagaya is located in the southern part of Osaka City, an industrial area that once prospered from the shipbuilding industry, and SSK is a renovated former warehouse of the shipyard where more than a dozen artists and creators are currently working. |
