| Background | The co-founder Kusakabe is inspired by her painter mother to launch KAGANHOTEL. She tries to provide low-cost studio environment and platform for earning by artist selves. |
| Location / Environment | KAGANHOTEL is located in Kyoto’s bustling Central Market in the western part of the city. This area is an important hub which supports restaurants and shops throughout Kyoto. Early in the morning the area is filled with the sights and sounds of vendors preparing and shipping out their produce. For those seeking fresh air and open spaces, Umekoji park and Kyoto Aquarium are a short walk away.By renovating what was once a crucial building to the central market’s produce distribution, KAGANHOTEL acknowledges the history of the area and seeks to responsibly contribute to the growth and prosperity of the neighborhood. |
