Description | We are pleased to announce our open call for the following programs of the next FAAM Artist in Residence Program FY2025. Open call for the “Artist from Abroad, Japan and Fukuoka” is a three-month residency which will be held in three terms, summer, autumn and winter. [Artists from Abroad] 4 artists (groups) in total for all the residency period. [Artists from Japan] 1 or 2 artists (groups) in total for all the residency period. [Artists from Fukuoka] 1 or 2 artists (groups) in total for all the residency period. * Only 1 person will receive financial support by FAAM, if applicants are in a group. |

Residency period | [Artist from Abroad, Japan and Fukuoka] 1st period: July – September, 2025 (approx. 85 days) 2nd period: October – December, 2025 (approx. 80 days) 3rd period: January – March, 2026 (approx. 60 days) * Period of residency will be decided according to the proposed project plan and discussion between FAAM and candidates. |
Qualification | [Artists from Abroad] Japanese nationals living overseas are not eligible. [Artists from Japan] Any nationals living in Japan are eligible. [Artists from Fukuoka] Applicants must be a resident either in Fukuoka or nearby place, who should be able to work at the designated studio. No regulations for the applicant’s nationality. |
Pay by artists / Support for artists | 1) Expenses for international and domestic travels (Only for artists from abroad and Japan) and commuting expenses 2) Accommodation and Living expenses (Only for artists from abroad and Japan) 3) Expenses for art making and exhibition (for a maximum of 500,000 JPY) 4) Expenses for art exchange programs 5) Publicity costs for the residency artist’s exhibition 6) Art insurance during the residency artist’s exhibition |
