Kunsthal Gent is an experimental intersection for the presentation and development of contemporary art, located in a monumental fourteenth-century Carmelite monastery in the centre of Ghent since 2018. Visual art is central to the programme, which is contantly nourished and challenged by architecture, design, audiovisual art, performing arts and art in public space. Withi this broad approach, Kunsthal Gent not only transcends the classical definitions of the artist, curator, critic and designer, but also breaks down the dividing lines between individual, collective, and organisation. Throughout the year, Kunsthal Gent offers approsimately six artists, collectives, or collaborative initiatives a mini-residency, with a maximum of one week's use of Kunstal Gent's apartment and a small budget. This short working period serves as an introduction to us and the development of ideas that may result in a larger collaboration. [Photo: from official site]

Stuudio Labus is an artist-run residency programme primarily designed for fiber and textile artists. Our primary aim is to cultivate an environment that fosters creativity, experimentation, and introspection for artists working within the textile field. We strive to offer a platform for sharing skills, experiences, and connections within the vibrant world of fiber and textile art. Situated in an industrial area of Tallinn, Estonia, our studio is located within a former cement factory building. Our residency can accommodate 1-2 artists, with stays ranging from a minimum of two weeks to a maximum of three months. An integral part of our residency programme is the introduction to Estonia's fiber and textile art scene. This includes events, workshops, visits to studios and cultural institutions, and more. We extend a warm invitation to residents to actively partake in these activities.
"MASSIA is based in the Estonian countryside, near the Baltic sea, about 180 km south of Tallinn, and 140 km north of Riga (Latvia). The residency is located in the old school house of Massiaru, a little village with about thirty inhabitants, surrounded by forests, fields and bogs. MASSIA is a project and residency space for individuals and groups from any field – artists, practitioners, researchers, scientists, activists, etc., who seek to examine and determine their own conditions of work. It is a self-organised residency that operates without staff and asks for participatory ways of being. MASSIA is for people who can motorize their own artistic and knowledge production, not only responding to the opportunities given by the institutional market. Initiated and run by artists, researchers and practitioners themselves, MASSIA is a user-created informal residency. There is no selection process and it is open to anyone as long as there are rooms available and as long as prospective participants agree with the basic principles laid out in MASSIA basics. The Maker in Residence is a residency programme for Designers and Makers at the Valletta Design Cluster, a community hub for cultural and creative practice in Malta. The residency offers designers time and space away from their usual routine to reflect, research, and consider new ways of developing their practice or product. Share your results with like-minded individuals, professionals, and the public through a final event, talk, workshop, and exhibition at the end of the residency. We welcome makers who are developing sustainable products, processes and materials such as those that reduce waste, conserve energy or use recycled material, and/or makers who are using their skills and creativity to reimagine existing products, services or systems. This includes makers who are developing new ways to produce or consume goods or creating new models for community problem-solving. Makers who are developing products and services that address social challenges such as urban greening, accessibility and promoting community engagement in making are also encouraged to join the programme.
