  • LuppArt ResidencyBudakalász, Hungary

Ever since the establishment of the LuppArt Foundation in 2015 we have been striving to provide inspiration to those invested in art and artmaking. This is why we have chosen to set up our Residency Programme in the unique and picturesque landscape of Luppa Island, a small piece of land on the river Danube just a few kilometres outside Budapest. Our popular Residency Programme, held every summer, has been attracting a steady influx of artists at various stages of their professional career. The ideal conditions provided on the island together with the talent of our residents have resulted in the creation of a plethora of artworks, some of which we have acquired, thereby building our own collection. From 2018 onwards, prospective residents may gain access to the programme in two different ways: by invitation or by submitting their application online.

  • Van Gogh AiRZundert, Netherlands

The restored sexton’s house from Van Gogh’s period is just a stone’s throw from the Vincent van Gogh House. A gallery has been established in this annex. Next to this is a guest studio housing a Van Gogh ‘Artist in Residence’. Artists from home and abroad are invited to work here for a period of time in Van Gogh’s spirit. The results of this are then presented in the Van Gogh Gallery. A second guest studio opened in 2021. This is located in a monumental Flemish barn on Landgoed De Moeren in the future Van Gogh National Park. Here artists work for two months in the natural environment that exudes the atmosphere of Van Gogh.

  • CitadellarteBiella, Italy

Cittadellarte, Fondazione Pistoletto’s programme of artists’ residencies was founded in 1999. The programme is open to artists and professionals from all over the world and it aims at providing instruments for “artivators”, i.e. subjects working at the boundaries between artistic practices, processes of social change and collaborations with communities external to the art world, weaving together moments of interdisciplinary research, exchange of knowledge and practical activities. Our programme is focusing on season long research themes and developing four types of residency of different durations and with different objectives, grouped under the general heading of UNIDEE Residency Programs: UNIDEE Modules, Research Residency, Connective Residency and Organisations in Residency. Cittadellarte is located within the grade listed premises of the former Trombetta Wool Mill, a testimony of Biella’s past as one of the first European hubs within the textile industry.
