We are located on the Danish island of Bornholm, which has a vibrant art community. The residency is based next door to the artspace Beast in Østermarie, close to a grocery store, public transportation and a bikeride away from beautiful forests and the Sea. The aim of the residency is to encourage artists to come to Bornholm, get inspired by the unique nature and island life and get the possibility to focus on current projects or develop new ones. We welcome artists working in all fields, but especially encourage artists working in the field of photography to apply. The residence artists can stay here for 1-3 months, and application must be submitted online. [Photo: The studio space at Beast]

RaumArs is one of Finland's oldest artist residencies, where artists from different disciplines carry out collaborative and participatory art projects, workshops, events and performances with local communities and individuals. Over the years, RaumArs artists have worked with schools, art and cultural institutions, and various associations. On request, our partners can offer working spaces for wood or textile work, for example, as well as particularly interesting collaborations within two World Heritage sites. From the beginning of 2025, the association will be based in the newly renovated art house for RaumArs. In addition to the residence, artists will have space for exhibitions. Residency is open to all fields of art, curating and research. [Photo: Art House RaumArs will be opened in 2025]

The program covers a fee, documentation, expenses for travel and accommodation (for up to two persons) as well as networking opportunities. At the end of the residency, it will be possible to present the results publicly. [Photo: Mehdi Dahkan © De-Da Productions.]

The restored sexton’s house from Van Gogh’s period is just a stone’s throw from the Vincent van Gogh House. A gallery has been established in this annex. Next to this is a guest studio housing a Van Gogh ‘Artist in Residence’. Artists from home and abroad are invited to work here for a period of time in Van Gogh’s spirit. The results of this are then presented in the Van Gogh Gallery. A second guest studio opened in 2021. This is located in a monumental Flemish barn on Landgoed De Moeren in the future Van Gogh National Park. Here artists work for two months in the natural environment that exudes the atmosphere of Van Gogh.
