    The Frankfurt LAB, a vital performance and producing space for contemporary performing arts and music, in collaboration with the KfW Stiftung promotes international emerging artists in the performing arts (performance, dance, theatre, music). The Frankfurt Moves! artist residency annually invites four emerging artists – who were trained in Asia, Africa, Latin America or the MENA region – for a four-week stay in Frankfurt/Main, a metropolis in the heart of Europe. The artists in residence will be able to use the professional rehearsal spaces of the Frankfurt LAB to work on a new project or to conduct research. The program covers a fee, documentation, expenses for travel and accommodation (for up to two persons) as well as networking opportunities.   • Künstlerhaus BethanienBerlin, Germany

    As an international cultural centre in Berlin since 1975, the Künstlerhaus Bethanien has implemented and exhibited hundreds of projects with over 2.500 artists. The International Studio Programme is a platform for emerging artists from around the world. Over a fixed period, the focus of the Künstlerhaus Bethanien’s efforts lies on providing individual support and establishing connections between the artists in the program and the wider local context. The program offers curatorial support in the implementation of the artists’ projects, supplying workshops and technical infrastructure, presenting the projects produced, advertising all events organised by the resident artists, holding at least two annual “Open Studio”, editing and distributing the publications related to the projects presented at the institution, establishing contacts with international curators, critics, publicists, theorists, gallery owners and collectors, hosting seminars, talks and readings, liaising the artists with international institutions, projects and exhibitions.   • Stiftung Künstlerdorf SchöppingenSchöppingen, Germany

    Since 1989, the Künstlerdorf Schöppingen supports international artists with its residency program. The stipend-funded fellowship of two to six months enables the realization of projects in the fields of literature, visual arts and composition.
    Situated in the rural area of Münsterland, the Künstlerdorf awards around 40 grants each year and a total of about 900 artists have been invited. It is open to international applicants and has no age limit. The program offers the opportunity to regularly gain insight into artistic processes and to engage in personal exchange with the fellows. In addition to ongoing events such as monthly dinners and brunches, the Künstlerdorf organizes the annual Curating for Advanced Practices program, which aims to discuss production conditions and implementation issues for artistic practices and to develop new strategies and structures in the arts.   • ACC GalerieWeimar, Germany

    The International Studio Program of the ACC Gallery and the City of Weimar was founded in 1994. Our goal is to combine the promotion of artists with the presentation of contemporary art in the urban space, to serve as a meeting place and to attract international attention. In this way, international cultural exchange is promoted and prejudices are broken down. The City of Weimar supports the program by providing a studio with an attached apartment in the Städtisches Atelierhaus Weimar - one of the oldest buildings of its kind in Germany. Three-quarters of the monthly stipend of 1,000 euros is provided by the City of Weimar. The remaining quarter is provided by the ACC Gallery Weimar, which organizes the worldwide application process, convenes the independent jury, and supports the three artists invited each year throughout their residency in Weimar.

It functions as an exhibition place for contemporary art, a studio house, and an artist-in-residence program in a unique renovated factory building, the former Haggenmacher brewery. art quarter budapest’s International Artist-in-Residence host artists in the fields of visual arts, Performing arts, Music and sound art, Literature and literary translation, Illustration and design and art theory, curatorial and art management in the duration between 1 to 3 months. In addition to mediation in organizing exhibitions and presentations at aqb and other galleries and institutions in Budapest, the residency program offers meetings and lectures with Hungarian curators and art critics.

    The Jan van Eyck Academie welcomes some 45 participants from all over the world annually. Next to visual artists, the academy is open to designers—ranging from graphic design, fashion, food to social design—architects, curators, and writers. Each year, our call for applications is open and candidates can apply for an 11-month residency. The selection committee chooses new participants on the basis of the submitted project plans and documentation. The selected artists have in common an inquisitive, open and engaged attitude, their work testifies to an art practice that is investigative and committed. The Jan van Eyck Academie offers its participants the tools to further develop, materialise and disseminate their research. They are encouraged to explore their ideas in a critical and reciprocal relationship with each other and the world—and in this way, make a contribution to the development of the arts and their significance for society.

    Gate 44 is a visual culture production studio. We offer production-based residencies to visual artists, designers & creatives from all backgrounds and levels of expertise. Our professional studios are equipped for large-scale etching, screen printing, relief printing, lithography, bookmaking, and metalworking. Our goal is to accompany artists in the discovery process of new languages and technical solutions to add to their expressive toolkit. Artists have the option to be assisted by experts across various disciplines to produce mixed-media, complex projects. Self-led residencies are available depending studio availability.

    AiR 351 is an international residency program located in Portugal. AiR 351 is an independent, non-profit organization, a studio-based program, operating within the visual arts. By bringing together international and national artists, curators and other selected interlocutors, it opens up a space to share ideas and research, through confluence and dialogue, creating a sense of community. AiR 351's mission is to expand critical mass while furthering artistic projects and exchanges. So far we have hosted around 80 international artists and curators from more than 25 countries. AiR 351 builds up collaborations and regularly presents public programs at our headquarters and in other partnering venues.     The At Home in Hundorf Association is the initiator and organizer of the art residency program “Școala de-Acasă” (ȘAH) designed for emerging young artists. Through two-week creative residencies spent amid a friendly rural community, we offer time and space for artists to identify and strengthen their individuality and facilitate a context for networking and collaboration. Seven consecutive editions of ȘAH have taken place so far in the village, hosting over 100 young artists. Starting in 2022, ȘAH has also opened its doors to international artists who share the residency space and time with their Romanian peers. Our team supports total creative freedom and believes in the importance of surprising process of the artists.
