The Rijksakademie offers a two-year international residency programme to around fifty artists that provides space for research, experiment and production of new work. Residents are supported with a studio, a work budget and a stipend and can seek advice from leading art professionals from a wide variety of cultural and creative backgrounds. In addition there is a rich research and production infrastructure, consisting of various technical workshops operated by specialists, a library and a historical and contemporary art collection. The International Residency Program of the Ionion Center for the Arts and Culture is a program operating in the fields of Higher Education, Arts, Sciences, Research. The residency program is open, international, running all year, supporting/advancing high level artistic and scientific research and creation projects. It is inviting artists and scientists, curators, art factors, universities and art’s institutions from around the world. Our aim is the exchange of Knowledge, Creation, Artistic expertise, innovative practices and performance. It is a program establishing bridges to connecting the contemporary International Art and Sciences Forums. There is no limit, starting from two weeks minimum. There are short or long term residencies subject to the early formal enrolment and the space availability.
Wiels is an international laboratory for the creation and the diffusion of contemporary art, and a space for innovative ideas and creative experiences. Up to 20 artists participate in the residency programme each year, in two sessions of 6 months. For each session, 2-3 of the 9 studios in WIELS are allocated to Belgium-based artists, while the remaining are dedicated to international residents, who are selected through specific calls. The residency provides working spaces in a suitable environment for artists who seek autonomy, feedback and/or interaction with peers, and the interdisciplinary art scene that Brussels in particular offers, engaging in current artistic and theoretical debates through weekly discussions with the mentors, visits, presentations and public interactions with audiences.

Ideally located in the heart of the capital, Casino Luxembourg – Forum d’art contemporain, founded in 1996, holds contemporary art exhibitions with an international programme of mainly younger-generation artists. Casino Display is a place of work, of research, of exchanges and orientation, with the aim of encouraging and supporting young creatives. Also, we host artists for 2 to 5-month-long artist residencies. It is part of the natural evolution and continuous development of the residency programme that Casino Luxembourg has pursued since 2010. The residency at Casino Display is primarily intended as a time of research and dialogue. The outcome of the residency can be an exhibition, but in essence, no finished results are obligatory.
Ever since the Cité internationale des arts was founded in 1965, artists have been coming from all over the world to take part in our artist-in-residence programmes. The Cité encourages cross-cultural dialogue and provides a place where artists can meet with their public and other professionals. The Cité internationale des arts is an artists' residency that brings together artists in the heart of Paris and allows them to implement a creative or research project in all disciplines. For periods of two months to a year, in the Marais or in Montmartre, the Cité internationale des arts allows artists to work in an environment that is conducive to creation and open to meetings with professionals from the cultural milieu. The Romanian Association for Contemporary Art (ARAC) is a non-profit organization founded in June 2012, in order to produce and promote contemporary art in Romania and abroad. An important objective of ARAC is to facilitate international cultural exchanges with artistic environments from around the world. Through the years, ARAC has organised residency programs, exhibitions and published art books while actively investigating and reflecting upon emerging developments in contemporary art and culture. HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme is an international artist residency organisation established in 1998. The HIAP residency programme offers time and space for developing new work in dialogue with the local art scene. The goal is to support experimental, cross-disciplinary art practices and to actively contribute to topical debates within and around the context of art. The residencies for artists, curators and other cultural practitioners in Suomenlinna island and Cable Factory in Helsinki. The residency periods are between 1-11 months. The residencies offer time and space open-ended research and exploration. The Open Studios event is an opportunity to present the work-in-progress for art professionals and general public. Taking part in the Open Studios event is optional. The residencies for artists are typically 3 or 11 months, and for curators 1-2 months. The residencies are arranged with numerous partner organisations and the residents are chosen via open calls or by invitation. The Jan van Eyck Academie welcomes some 45 participants from all over the world annually. Next to visual artists, the academy is open to designers—ranging from graphic design, fashion, food to social design—architects, curators, and writers. Each year, our call for applications is open and candidates can apply for an 11-month residency. The selection committee chooses new participants on the basis of the submitted project plans and documentation. The selected artists have in common an inquisitive, open and engaged attitude, their work testifies to an art practice that is investigative and committed. The Jan van Eyck Academie offers its participants the tools to further develop, materialise and disseminate their research. They are encouraged to explore their ideas in a critical and reciprocal relationship with each other and the world—and in this way, make a contribution to the development of the arts and their significance for society.
