  • IMAGO INTERNATIONAL ARTIST RESIDENCYPlovdiv, Bulgaria

    IMAGO International Artist Residency is part of the independent platform for contemporary art and culture Art and Culture Today (www.ARTandCulture.today), founded in 2016 by Radoslav Mehandzhiyski and Teodora Konstantinova – well established Bulgarian art historians, contemporary art lecturers and curators. Located in "The Village of Peace", Tsarimir, right next to the cultural capital of Europe for 2019 – the city of Plovdiv – IMAGO International Artist Residency is a liberating space for visual artists and creatives seeking simple and comfortable working environment for their projects development. We address artists predominantly in the field of the visual arts with a stress on contemporary art (painting, photography, light sculpture, installations, textile, video art). The residency is also the right place for creatives looking for solitude while doing their artistic research as well as for musicians, curators, film and new media enthusiasts and professionals.

  • hacklab01Zagreb, Croatia

    Hackn3t is an online and physical residency program with the goal of showing the everyday practice of (digital) (new) media artists, coders or other tech creatives. Everyone is invited to apply with performances, artist talks, lectures, workshops that will take place on hacklab01’s own infrastructure and will be archived on the web under a permissive licence or presented in the physical venue of klub MaMa in Zagreb. Grants (artist fees) are awarded for each residential stay. The amount depends on the type of engagement and the duration of the residency. As we do not want to limit the formats but to encourage the diversity of applications, please specify the desired fee in your application. Hacklab01 is a project by AKC Attack and Format C art org, financially supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia, the "Kultura Nova" Foundation and the City of Zagreb.

  • Neiro Association for Expanding ArtsPrague, Czechia

    NEIRO Association for Expanding Arts produces and supports exceptional projects of Czech and international artists. Our aim is to present music and art in the international context and in collaboration with influential artists and theoreticians. Our organization supports and develops collaborations between the artists from the Czech Republic, Europe and Japan. We bring a new view on image and music & sound through lectures, symposiums, concerts, exhibitions, performances and a festival. The NEIRO studio includes a wide art library and equipment and facilities for music and audiovisual creation. The residency space is situated in the peaceful and inspiring artistic neighbourhood of Vršovice. A calm place hidden in one of the courtyards inspires and encourages music, visual, or literal creation.

  • Læsø Artist in ResidenceLæsø island, Denmark

    Læsø AiR is located in the unique artistic retreats of two of Denmark’s and the world’s most acclaimed artists - Per Kirkeby (1938-2018) and Asger Jorn (1914-1973) - at the island of Læsø. The main objective of the Læsø AiR program is to supports the development of the artistic process and and research phase for professional visual artists by providing time, space and opportunity to reflect and immerse in the working process in the unique and appropriate settings on Læsø. Foreign artists granted residencies will be given the opportunity to take part in networking activities with representatives from the Danish contemporary art scene. Professional, foreign (non-Danish) visual artists can apply for stays of 12 weeks’ duration. Professional Danish visual artists can apply for residencies of 4 and 6 weeks’ duration.

  • Beast Artist in ResidenceØstermarie, Bornholm, Denmark

    We are located on the Danish island of Bornholm, which has a vibrant art community. The residency is based next door to the artspace Beast in Østermarie, close to a grocery store, public transportation and a bikeride away from beautiful forests and the Sea. The aim of the residency is to encourage artists to come to Bornholm, get inspired by the unique nature and island life and get the possibility to focus on current projects or develop new ones. We welcome artists working in all fields, but especially encourage artists working in the field of photography to apply.   • Saari Residence (Kone Foundation)Hietamäki, Finland

    The Saari Residence, maintained by Kone Foundation, is a residence located in Mynämäki, Southwest Finland, for artists of all disciplines and nationalities. At the Saari Residence, artists and researchers can focus on their work in a peaceful rural environment and share their thoughts and experiences with colleagues. The residence’s long-term activities and thinking are underpinned by an ecological approach, which also covers social and psychological sustainability. Its keywords are slowness, insight and change. The residency places are intended for individual professional artists, fiction writers, poets and novelists, translators, composers, sound artists, curators, and critics, artistic duos, and artistic collectives (i.e., a workgroup or established organisation with a Business ID) of all disciplines and all nationalities for the purpose of carrying out a project proposed in advance.   • Künstlerhaus BethanienBerlin, Germany

    As an international cultural centre in Berlin since 1975, the Künstlerhaus Bethanien has implemented and exhibited hundreds of projects with over 2.500 artists. The International Studio Programme is a platform for emerging artists from around the world. Over a fixed period, the focus of the Künstlerhaus Bethanien’s efforts lies on providing individual support and establishing connections between the artists in the program and the wider local context. The program offers curatorial support in the implementation of the artists’ projects, supplying workshops and technical infrastructure, presenting the projects produced, advertising all events organised by the resident artists, holding at least two annual “Open Studio”, editing and distributing the publications related to the projects presented at the institution, establishing contacts with international curators, critics, publicists, theorists, gallery owners and collectors, hosting seminars, talks and readings, liaising the artists with international institutions, projects and exhibitions.   • Stiftung Künstlerdorf SchöppingenSchöppingen, Germany

    Since 1989, the Künstlerdorf Schöppingen supports international artists with its residency program. The stipend-funded fellowship of two to six months enables the realization of projects in the fields of literature, visual arts and composition.
    Situated in the rural area of Münsterland, the Künstlerdorf awards around 40 grants each year and a total of about 900 artists have been invited. It is open to international applicants and has no age limit. The program offers the opportunity to regularly gain insight into artistic processes and to engage in personal exchange with the fellows. In addition to ongoing events such as monthly dinners and brunches, the Künstlerdorf organizes the annual Curating for Advanced Practices program, which aims to discuss production conditions and implementation issues for artistic practices and to develop new strategies and structures in the arts.     The International Studio Program of the ACC Gallery and the City of Weimar was founded in 1994. Our goal is to combine the promotion of artists with the presentation of contemporary art in the urban space, to serve as a meeting place and to attract international attention. In this way, international cultural exchange is promoted and prejudices are broken down. The City of Weimar supports the program by providing a studio with an attached apartment in the Städtisches Atelierhaus Weimar - one of the oldest buildings of its kind in Germany. Three-quarters of the monthly stipend of 1,000 euros is provided by the City of Weimar. The remaining quarter is provided by the ACC Gallery Weimar, which organizes the worldwide application process, convenes the independent jury, and supports the three artists invited each year throughout their residency in Weimar.

In addition to mediation in organizing exhibitions and presentations at aqb and other galleries and institutions in Budapest, the residency program offers meetings and lectures with Hungarian curators and art critics.
