  • Helsinki International Artist Programme (HIAP)Helsinki, Finland

    HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme is an international artist residency organisation established in 1998. The HIAP residency programme offers time and space for developing new work in dialogue with the local art scene. The goal is to support experimental, cross-disciplinary art practices and to actively contribute to topical debates within and around the context of art. The residencies for artists, curators and other cultural practitioners in Suomenlinna island and Cable Factory in Helsinki. The residency periods are between 1-11 months. The residencies offer time and space open-ended research and exploration. The Open Studios event is an opportunity to present the work-in-progress for art professionals and general public. Taking part in the Open Studios event is optional. The residencies for artists are typically 3 or 11 months, and for curators 1-2 months. The residencies are arranged with numerous partner organisations and the residents are chosen via open calls or by invitation.   • Saari Residence (Kone Foundation)Hietamäki, Finland

    The Saari Residence, maintained by Kone Foundation, is a residence located in Mynämäki, Southwest Finland, for artists of all disciplines and nationalities. At the Saari Residence, artists and researchers can focus on their work in a peaceful rural environment and share their thoughts and experiences with colleagues. The residence’s long-term activities and thinking are underpinned by an ecological approach, which also covers social and psychological sustainability. Its keywords are slowness, insight and change. The residency places are intended for individual professional artists, fiction writers, poets and novelists, translators, composers, sound artists, curators, and critics, artistic duos, and artistic collectives (i.e., a workgroup or established organisation with a Business ID) of all disciplines and all nationalities for the purpose of carrying out a project proposed in advance.   • RaumArsRauma, Finland

    RaumArs is one of Finland's oldest artist residencies, where artists from different disciplines carry out collaborative and participatory art projects, workshops, events and performances with local communities and individuals. Over the years, RaumArs artists have worked with schools, art and cultural institutions, and various associations. On request, our partners can offer working spaces for wood or textile work, for example, as well as particularly interesting collaborations within two World Heritage sites. From the beginning of 2025, the association will be based in the newly renovated art house for RaumArs. In addition to the residence, artists will have space for exhibitions.   • Serlachius ResidencyMänttä, Finland

    The Serlachius Residency is a guest studio, maintained by Gösta Serlachius Fine Arts Foundation, for professionals of the creative sector working in the visual arts. The Serlachius Residency was established in 2015 in cooperation with the Mänttä Art Festival. Visual artists, art historians, researchers or curators may apply to the Serlachius Residency. The residency provides a peaceful working environment. We produce for Art Town Mänttä-Vilppula small events that provide a forum for interaction between the public and residency guests. For the Serlachius Residency, responsibility for the environment is a matter of the heart. Our goal is to minimize the amount of waste generated and the negative environmental impact.
